Community Service

  • Local housing organization for the elderly needs help! Weed removal after all our rain. Get your last few hours of service done & help local folks. Contact Gay-Marie @ gaysomers@gmail.com to arrange a time.

  • The Nipomo Lions Club needs help with Food Distribution the 4th Tuesday of each month at Dana Elementary School. It starts at 3:30 and ends at 6pm. Students can come and help out by assisting the families with putting the food into a shopping cart and loading it into their cars.

  • Rancho De Los Animales for the Disabled in Arroyo Grande needs volunteers! You will help deserving disabled youth & adults with horseback riding & help with the farm animal petting zoo. You will also learn horse handling skills & how to care for a variety of farm animals. To volunteer call (805)489-4751 or (805)459-9083.   
  • American Legion.  We are always in need on a weekly basis for general post clean up, this includes moving and storing of tables/chairs, weeding the parking lots and taking out trash.  As you may or may not know the American Legion is a veterans organization run by veterans in our local community.  
  • Spring Garden Tour & Plant Exchange which will take place on Saturday, June 1st and our Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series which begins on Sunday, June 2nd. Email nodonnell@groverbeach.org to sign up/for more info.

  • The Positive Change Movement needs volunteers for a 70's themed Prom for adults with developmental disabilities. The event will be on June 8 from 6pm-9pm at Colony Park Community Center in Atascadero. Help with set-up starting at 4:30 PM & clean up, along with support during the event. Please contact Ms. McNeal at mcneal@lmusd.org for more info. The hours served will count towards next year’s hours.
